KETEPA LAUNCHES NEWBOTTLED WATER BRAND.
In an effort to diversify their product and fill the existing market gap Kenya Tea Packers (KETEPA) has introduced a new product in the competitive bottled water market.
Speaking during the launch of the Maisha brand at a Nairobi hotel KETEPA managing director Mr. Tim Chege said his organization has decided to give Kenyans a product made in Kenya using the most current technology.
Mr. Chege called upon the government to consider reviewing Tax on bottled water and other soft drinks to enable Kenyans have access to well blended water and other drinks. He at the same time asked the concerned arm of the government to enhance its fight against counterfeit goods which he termed as threat to the genuine products.
Speaking in the same function minister for trade Hon. Amos Kimunya who was the guest of honour called upon Kenyans to be patriotic by taking products made in Kenya. He said this the only way that the local industries can grow hence create employment.
He challenged the tea packers to ensure that the benefit received from this diversification would benefit farmers in the rural areas in order to eradicate poverty. He said this way the economy of the country would be expected to grow at a higher rate.
The minister called upon the prospective companies to venture into the untapped markets in order to complement the already existing markets.
