State Department for Trade hosts Team Building Retreat to Enhance Collaboration and Service Delivery
The State Department for Trade organized a team-building exercise in Naivasha bringing together staff from various departments to foster collaboration and strengthen teamwork.
The event featured a series of fun and engaging activities aimed at promoting communication, problem-solving and cooperation.
Staff participated in outdoor games designed to enhance teamwork and bonding as well as trust-building exercises to enhance trust and reliance among colleagues.
The team-building exercise provided a refreshing break from the office routine boosting staff morale and motivation. It also offered a valuable opportunity for connecting and building relationships outside the formal work environment.
Speaking during the event, Principal Secretary Regina Ombam reaffirmed the State Department’s commitment to fostering a positive and productive work culture to enhance service delivery.
She expressed confidence that the team-building initiative will create synergy and unity of purpose within the State Department.
In addition to the physical activities,the team building exercise also incorporated training sessions.
Staff were taken through key topical discussions on ethical leadership, focusing on integrity, accountability and professionalism in public service.
Staff also gained insights on effective communication, emphasizing active listening, clear messaging and conflict resolution in the workplace.
Participants also learned how to manage generational diversity in the workplace particularly in today's multigenerational workforce, where employees from different age groups and backgrounds come together to achieve common goals.
The training emphasized the importance of effective communication across generations, highlighting strategies for bridging gaps and fostering collaboration besides leveraging the strengths of each generation to drive innovation, productivity and teamwork.
