Kenya Steps Up Preparations for the 24th COMESA Summit

The State Department for Trade convened the second meeting of the National Multi-Agency Organising Committee for the 24th COMESA Heads of State and Government Summit, scheduled to take place in Nairobi on 9th, October 2025.

The meeting brings together government officials from different Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs)to track progress of the ongoing preparations and ensure a coordinated approach across the nine subcommittees responsible for various aspects of the summit.

COMESA Focal Point-Kenya  Tobias Odongo emphasized the importance of aligning all activities to guarantee the efficient and effective allocation of resources, ensuring the successful hosting of the event.

The summit is expected to bring together leaders from the 21 COMESA member states to deliberate on regional integration, trade and economic cooperation.

The summit will be preceded by the COMESA Business Forum and Council of Ministers for Foreign Affairs meeting scheduled for 7th and 8th October, 2025 respectively.
