National Organising Committee Reviews Preparations for 24th COMESA Summit

The  Multi -Agency National Organising Committee (NOC) for the upcoming 24th COMESA Summit of Heads of State and Government, scheduled for 9th October at KICC in Nairobi convened on Tuesday to review the state of preparedness for the summit.

Chaired by the COMESA Focal Point–Kenya Tobias Odongo, the meeting considered progress reports from the various sub committees tasked with organizing the event. With just one month to go the committee reaffirmed Kenya’s readiness to host the summit.

Themed “Leveraging Digitalization to Deepen Value Chains for Sustainable and Inclusive Growth”,the summit will provide a vital platform for advancing regional integration and trade while reinforcing COMESA’s role in driving inclusive and sustainable economic development across member states.

The summit will be preceded by the COMESA Business Forum on October 7th and the Council of Ministers for Foreign Affairs meeting on October 8th.Kenya will assume the rotating chairmanship of COMESA from Burundi during the summit.

The multi agency NOC includes various government ministries and agencies  reflecting a whole-of-government approach to ensure seamless planning, robust security and successful hosting of the summit
