PS Trade unveils COMESA summit preparatory committee

PS Trade Regina Ombam has launched the Multi-Agency National Organizing Committee (NOC)for the 24th COMESA Heads of States and Government summit slated for October 9th in Nairobi.

The NOC will be responsible for coordination and execution of all aspects related to the summit.

"The committee with its respective sub-committees forms the backbone for all the necessary planning required for an effective and successful summit,"said PS Ombam.

She noted that the summit presents an opportunity for Kenya and the member states to foster stronger economic ties and advance regional trade and integration.

"The summit is also a  platform for members states to lead discussions on market access and how to enhance competitiveness for products and goods within the region,"noted the PS.

The summit will be preceded by the COMESA Business Forum and Council of Ministers for Foreign Affairs meeting scheduled for 7th and 8th October,2025 respectively.

Kenya will be hosting the summit for the third time having hosted the 12th summit in 2007 and the 3rd summit in 1999
