State Department for Trade Hosts Zimbabwe National Defence University Delegation to Study Trade, Technology and Regional Integration

A delegation from the Zimbabwe National Defence University is in Kenya for a week-long educational study on trade, economic development, technological advancement and regional integration.

Led by Air Commodore Elisha Farai Masakadza, the delegation today visited the State Department for Trade to learn about Kenya’s trade systems and technological advancement, while analyzing shared challenges and opportunities for bilateral and multilateral cooperation.

The delegation was hosted by Secretary Administration Patrick Mukuria on behalf of the Principal Secretary for Trade Regina Ombam.

Mukuria noted that the two countries enjoy cordial relations based on shared historical experiences and mutual respect and that the visit provides a platform to deepen understanding of how trade and technology can contribute to economic growth, national resilience and regional stability.

Air Commodore Masakadza said the visit will help the delegation share knowledge on trade as a strategic instrument of national power and statecraft.

He added that besides Kenya, the delegation will also visit Tunisia, Burkina Faso with a similar delegation visiting Egypt, India and Russia to learn best practices on how trade and economic development relate to national security and resilience.
