State Department for Trade Reviews Stakeholder Input on National Trade Development Bill,2025

The State Department for Trade has convened a technical workshop to review and incorporate stakeholder views into the Draft National Trade Development Bill 2025, following the countrywide public participation exercise conducted from 3rd to 11th February 2026.

The workshop, led by the Acting Director for Domestic Trade, Elizabeth Miguda, brings together a technical team tasked with reviewing feedback received from stakeholders and making the necessary adjustments to the Bill.

The proposed legislation seeks to establish a comprehensive legal framework that positions trade as a key driver of economic growth, industrialization, digital transformation and global competitiveness. 

It also aims to strengthen coordination between the national and county governments, as well as enhance collaboration with the private sector on trade-related matters.

Speaking during the workshop in Limuru,Miguda noted the progress made so far and emphasized the importance of completing the legislative process to ensure the successful development and enactment of the bill.
